Bowling and Basketball

Not a ton going on in the Petroelje house these past few weeks. A couple Saturdays back, we went bowling with our church family ministry group, Fusion. This was Grant's first time at the lanes, and things went as could be expected. He really liked it, but couldn't understand why he had to wait for a couple others to bowl before taking his turn again. This led to a few bouts of pouting and stomping, but overall, things went pretty well.
Check out the form on the PE teacher! Too bad his wife's high score was higher than his (ha, ha!).
The kids got to use the handicap ramp to roll the ball down. It worked really well.
While you may think by looking at this picture that we have a super talented bowler on our hands who can bowl no hands with his eyes covered, it's actually one of his "not so happy" moments (he's crying because he didn't get his way- arghh; can you sense in the tone that I don't sympathize with him!)
Bennett, Trent, and Grant - pretty impressive that we could get them to 1) stand still, and 2) look in the direction of the camera!

Last week was a week full of basketball games. We had the opportunity to attend Zeeland's quarterfinal, semifinal, and state final games on Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday. Unfortunately, they lost in the finals, but we had a great time following them. The entire Petroelje family attended the semifinal game Friday night vs. Bridgeport. Below is the best picture I could get of the group, sitting up in the nosebleed section. We had much better seats for Saturday's game. It's so hard to believe that next week is spring break already! Where has this school year gone?! We're sticking around town for break (too bad the weather sounds yuck). We plan to hang out with friends for a few days and also to try and get Grant full fledged potty trained. I know, I know, all of you who are headed to the warm south are just dying to trade places with me for the week! I am sick of having one in pull-ups and one in diapers, so I am dedicating my break to training Grant. This could go one of two ways. It's my hope that it's a breeze. The kid knows when he's got to go potty and knows how to go in the toilet (reason it should be a breeze), but going in his pants is the way he's exerted his "control" over me these past few months (reason it could be hard). So...pray it all goes well and I don't want to flush him down the toilet when all is said and done! :)

Brooke continues to grow like a weed! She's starting to laugh, grabs things with her hands and sucks on them, sleeps like a champ at night, generally from about 9:30 until 7:00, and is just overall such a content baby. We are so very blessed to have two fantastic kids!

You forgot to mention that she's ridiculously adorable...:-)
Good luck next week. I'll need tips soon as A's starting to show interest. We'll be thinking of you. Don't flush Grant...the world needs him!

Oh I can't wait to hear the result of this battle...the stubborn mom vs. the stubborn son. It should be a good one! Good luck Kimbo! Great pics of Brookey - too cute! Keep 'em coming!
