TULIP TIME
As we do each year, we spent some time downtown to partake in the Tulip Time festivities. We're creatures of habit. We go one night for junk food and then catch the Wednesday parade. Kathi, Chad, and Brielle were home to celebrate Brielle's 2nd birthday, so they joined in the fun.

Grant will wrap up his year of preschool this coming Friday. This year has absolutely flown, and Grant has loved every minute of his time spent at school. A few weeks back I had the opportunity to spend some time in G's class for Mom's Tea. They put on a cute skit, sang a song, ate a snack with us, and gave us a flower. I had a lot of fun with my little man.
Tonight was graduation. It was just a beautiful night, and it was so fun to watch all the little kids on stage. I can tell you one thing - I would not be cut out to be a preschool teacher. I do not have the patience! The kids sang a few songs, got their names called to receive their certificates, and then celebrated with punch and cookies afterward. Too cute!

BUILDING PLANS
Well, we're taking the plunge and finally building on the property we've owned for close to five years now. We've been working on clearing some of the dead trees and brush off the lot to prepare for things to get rolling (hopefully within the next few weeks if it ever stops raining long enough to dry the ground up a little bit).
Eric's been hard at work with my dad trying to get things all ready.
It is rather bittersweet for me, because I love our house. We've owned it for almost 10 years already and have raised two children here, so I have so many wonderful memories. It's also so conveniently located to my job, parks, sidewalks, the mall, Meijer, etc., etc., etc., and it is in just a phenomenal neighborhood! However, I am also excited to be back out in the country and have a little more space to roam. I'm excited for campfires, walks through the woods, playing in the creek with the kiddos, and being right down the road from both sets of grandparents. Additionally, with the addition of "two more feet" to our house come early December (yep, you read that right - we're having another baby!), we needed a little more room. I am still trying to process how we are going to try and finish building a home and have a child within a few weeks of each other or less, and am scared at the thought (CRAZY might be a good way to describe how busy things are going to be), but I've told myself I cannot stress out about it (those of you know me well enough are laughing hard right now at that comment, because you know I won't be able to abide by my recommendation to myself). Those of you who know me well also know that I am the WORST decision maker out there, and so the poor interior decorator does not know what she's getting into when she meets with me this week. YIKES! :)
Lastly, the school year is winding down for both Eric and me, and as I look back on my 10th year in education, I can honestly say that it just keeps getting better. LOVE what I do and am so thankful and blessed to have such a great job! I just cannot believe that a) the year is done already, and b) I've been out of college for 10 years!!!! Wow.
