Spring Break and Easter

(Warning: this post is very picture heavy!)
We had a great spring break last week. Although we didn't head off to warmer climates, we were quite productive at home! First (and my main mission for the week), was to potty train Grant. For those of you that were skeptical that I could prevail in the battle of wills, you lose! Grant is fully day trained and stays dry at night about 50% of the time. He has only had one accident in the past week and a half. Fire up for getting rid of pull-ups!! Check out the new duds being worn under my little man's attire! He's growing up so fast!

We participated in a number of activities during our week home. My grandparents invited us over for dinner one night. My grandma had an Easter egg hunt planned for the evening as well. Eric and I had to laugh, because, although Grant knew he was going to get to go on an egg hunt sometime that evening, he did not once ask if he could start searching the condo for eggs during the hour that preceded the hunt. However, the second he was told he could go and find Easter eggs, he bolted to about 7 of the 16 spots my grandma had hidden the eggs, as if he has cased the place out upon arrival but didn't say anything about it.
Found one on top of the TV!
And on the end table!Check out his stash!Brooke and my grandma
Brooke and my grandpaA mad round of the Fishing Game! Love this picture!

We went to see the butterfly exhibit at Frederik Meijer Gardens with friends as well. We went right away when it opened, and boy are we glad we did. The place got PACKED as the morning progressed. I honestly think if I had to wait in the line that had formed as we were leaving, I would have left - it was that bad. The kids had a good time watching the butterflies and participating in a variety of activities related to butterflies. I think they might have had an even better time in the playland at the Grandville McDonald's afterwards!

We decorated Easter eggs with Grant as well. I should say - Eric did most of the work, and Grant added stickers. Grant doesn't quite know how to be "careful" with the eggs yet, so needless to say, he broke a few of them in the process, but we had a fun time doing it.

Eric took Grant to the Holland Aquatic Center one day. As in the past, he had an absolute blast going down the slide umpteen times. I also got together with some friends one morning, so he got to play (or "fight" at times) with some of the kids. FYI - Grant is the only boy out of 8 kids in this group. Great odds for finding a date some day! Unfortunately I don't have any pictures from these (or, if you're sick of all the other pictures, this would probably be a good thing!).

Sunday after church we had Easter dinner at Eric's parents' house. We enjoyed a great meal, and Grant had a fantastic time playing with his cousins. We are so loving having them back in Michigan after being out in Iowa for a number of years! Here's the best picture of the gang that I could get!

Of course, with fun came some work. I tried to clean my house a little deeper than I normally do on a weekly basis and went through a number of items (aka "clutter") that I plan to put on the garage sale my friends are having next week. It will feel good to get that stuff out of the house! Hopefully the items will sell!!

Last but not least - HAPPY 28TH BIRTHDAY KATHI! It's so appropriate that an accountant's birthday fall on tax day! We love you lots and can't wait to see you and Baby C in a few short weeks! Here's Brooke's birthday wish to you. Enjoy!

What a week. I'm exhausted just reading about it. We need to chat about the potty training and by "chat," I mean you need to tell me how to do it now that you're a pro and all!!
