This year for Halloween, instead of traveling all over to different family members and friends' houses to trick-or-treat, we decided to go to one subdivision to do the majority of the candy damage. :) In order to still allow for family members to see our darlings dressed up, we had a get-together the Sunday before Halloween and had the kids wear their costumes. It worked out great, and the kids enjoyed wearing their costumes on more than one occasion.

Brooke, Tori, Grant, Joel, and Grady
The bulk of our Saturday, then, was spent in Imperial Estates, walking around and making a candy haul. Reese is staying at her cousin Megan's house in that subdivision while Marcy and Eric are in China, so both of them joined us. It was just a beautiful evening to be outside, and there were a ton of families trick-or-treating.

Those of you who are observant would notice that my daughter is wearing a different costume in each picture. To explain - in her closet is a size 4/5 T Cinderella ("princeees" - according to Brooke) dress that I bought at a garage sale and planned to have her wear next year. Well...you see, you could consider B to be an independent type child, and Brooke wanted to wear what Brooke wanted to wear. Princesses rank very high on her "love" list right now, so I caved. I won't lie, I was rather disappointed, as I just LOVE the lion costume that Grant wore when he was her age, and I was so excited for her to wear it this year. Rather than letting it die (you see, I can be stubborn, too!), I hauled the lion out again a few days before Halloween because the kids had a Halloween party at daycare, and once she tried it on, it was a hit! Yay!! I got to see her in the costume I adore and I still have one waiting to be worn (again) next year! :)

Don't you just want to eat her up??

Reese the ballerina, Megan the soccer player, and Grant the hippie Spiderman?? (what's up with the peace signs?)
After we had made the rounds and headed back home, Kurt, Amy, Hannah, Madi, and Kenzie came over to visit. I was able to get my baby fix for the night (love holding those babies!) and Grant got to rough house with "Uncle Kurt" (Grant just LOVES him - he's so good with the kids!).

We did pumpkin carving backwards this year, as we didn't carve pumpkins until after Halloween was over, but the kids still had a good time! Grant's looks like it needs a glass of V-8, though!
