Happy 2nd Birthday Brooke!

Our little girl turns 2 on Thursday! Wow - two years old already! We celebrated this past Saturday with our family. As some of you may know, Brooke is all about the princesses lately. Truly, I have no clue where that came from! However, our house has now been showered with all things princess and our princess is on cloud nine! :) Brooke has brought so much joy to our lives. She is such a fun-loving and personable little girl. Her vocabulary has just exploded over the past month and a half, as new words come out of her mouth daily and she's talking in sentences. She knows some of her colors, and can count to twelve. She's got some of the alphabet down, but that's still a work in progress. And... she's our built-in-gym. Yes, she is our go-getter and Eric and I get plenty of exercise chasing her around. :)
We ordered a birthday cake, but got cupcakes made up for the kids. As is obvious from above, B loved the frosting.
...and so did the rest of her face, until it was time to try and wash it off! The pink frosting stained big time! Needless to say, she had some extra rosy cheeks for church Sunday morning!
Princess to the max!! Watch out Grandpa P. and Grandpa G. You might be attacked by the fake nail polish or lipstick and have nightmares of a talking vanity - "Pink...that's a pretty color lipstick. That would look great with your outfit."
Here is the diva with her stash. Thank you to all who came and have transformed my house into a princess wonderland.

On a different note, but still related to Brooke, she has been such a ham these past few weeks. Of the many things that she has done to make us laugh lately, here are just a few...
You know your kids have spent a decent amount of time in timeout when one of them starts putting her baby in timeout. She came running over to me - "Mommy - baby timeout" and just had to show me.
I had snagged some Barbies on freecycle this past week (Barbies from the 1980's mind you - total flashback! Some of the clothes were even the same that I had growing up!). Brooke has enjoyed playing with them. Anyway, this is how I found Ken the other day. Hmmm...should I be concerned??

In other news, we went to the Zeeland Christmas parade downtown last Monday night. The kids had a great time watching and collecting candy. Just when I thought much of the candy had been expelled from my house in the aftermath of Halloween, we have now reloaded the stash. Sigh...Anyway, afterward the parade, we ventured downstairs at the library to check out the train display. G was geeked about this, to say the least.
Patiently waiting for the start of the parade (thank you Grandpa and Grandma P. for saving us seats!)
Can you sense the excitement?

Tis the season!

Happy birthday, Brooke! These December babies...there's something special about them!!!
The photos of time out and inappropriate Ken made me laugh out loud. I can just picture your sweet little kids sitting on that step, facing the corner, oh so sad:-) And Ken, the picture speaks for itself. So glad you grabbed the camera.
