Congratulations Uncle Chad...

...or should we say, soon to be Dr. Chad! Brooke and Grant (and their mommy and daddy!) were so excited to hear that Uncle Chad passed his comps today, making him one step closer to earning his doctorate in Philosophy of Sport at Penn State! (For those of you who are not doctorate lingo savvy, as we are not either, passing "comps" means that Chad passed a very lengthy and intense oral examination in which he answered questions presented to him by experts in the field.). He is now able to continue on and start preparing his dissertation (a.k.a. thesis that presents lots of research supporting a topic and requires a lot of work!).

This is the way Grant and Brooke expressed their excitement:

Grant - Went potty on the toilet all by himself (a major feat lately - arghhh!) and then gave the double thumbs up, a true sign of pride in his uncle:

Listened intently as mommy shared the news...

Smiled...

And smiled even bigger when she heard that this meant Uncle Chad was one step closer to actually having a full time job (hopefully) for the first time in his life...

Way to go Chad! We love you!
