Dinnertime Prayer

Grant has been praying at the dinner table for quite some time now, however, up until a few weeks ago, it was always prompted by either Eric or myself. Lately, he's been able to construct his own prayer - and this is what Thursday's dinnertime prayer went like...
God is gweat, God is good
Thank you for drampa and dramma
and God
and daycawe
and aunties and uncles and tousins
and no whammies...
-----
Here is where I lost it laughing - uncontrollably - even though the prayer wasn't finished. Grant and I watched the 1980's gameshow "Press Your Luck" on GSN during lunch time Thursday, and it must have made enough of an impression on him that he felt compelled to pray about it. What a hoot!!

On a separate note - we are very excited for my cousin Eric and his wife Susanne, as they welcomed little Grady James into the world Friday afternoon!! We went to visit them today, and he is adorable! Grant didn't seem jealous at all when I held him - but it could have had something to do with the fact that Grady had received a big green John Deere tractor as a present and Grant was too busy playing with that to care!! Three more weeks until his world will be turned upside down!! I can tell I'm getting close, because the nesting syndrome has kicked into full swing. This week alone I addressed my Christmas cards, put up my Christmas decorations and tree, washed my cupboards, laundered the baby clothes, vacuumed, dusted, cleaned bathrooms, swept, made a few meals to put in the freezer for when the baby comes, and got on my hands and knees and washed my kitchen floor (wouldn't recommend that to anyone who is 37 weeks pregnant!). I still want to clean out my bathroom cupboards and drawers, we have to re-assemble the crib, and I have to pack my bag yet...and then we're ready to roll! I won't lie - I am hoping that everything goes according to plan and I have the baby on my due date, which is a Saturday, and am able to work yet the Friday before, as I have a lot of things at work that need to get taken care of yet! We also have one MAJOR thing that needs to get decided yet- a name if it's a girl! Yikes! Boys names come so easily for us and we've had that selected for months, but Eric and I struggle trying to agree on a girl name. With Grant, we were quite certain it was a boy, and we went to the hospital with two possibilities for girl names but nothing set in stone. I have a gut feeling this one is another boy, so maybe we'll just have to wing it again!!

Kim, I can't believe you only have three more weeks....that went sooo fast. I'm sure Grant will LOVE his baby sister or brother and be very helpful to both of you. If you need more to do you can come nest at my house for awhile? :) We'll keep you in our prayers as your day comes closer and closer.
