House Update and Other Happenings

We're getting closer and closer to the house being completed!!  I've got a laundry list of things I've got to do this week yet, but I think there is an end in sight (hopefully) - just in time to get ready for a new addition to the family!  I cannot believe I'm due in a little over two weeks.  Ahhh!!  I've got to pack my bag yet, wash baby clothes, find the car seat (it's somewhere at Eric's parents, as we moved all of our baby stuff out of the house when we were trying to sell it to make it look like we didn't have so much junk sitting around!), and somehow find the time to pack up my house in preparation for a move.  I am sure we'll look back on all of this and laugh, but right now, it's stressful! :)

The concrete approach to the house was poured about two weeks ago, and, as you can see, our driveway does not lack for space to play basketball, ride bike, roller skate, play hockey, etc., etc., etc.  Excited to watch the kiddos spend a lot of time out there next summer!

About a week and a half ago the painters started, and they're getting close to being done.  What a lot of work!  I am loving the colors I picked out (which can be so stressful because you have to make a decision based on an inch-by-inch sample.  Kudos to Chelsea who has been helping us through this whole process.  She's been soooo wonderful in helping me make all my decisions.  Here's a snapshot of some of the rooms (and the models that posed in them - ignore the fact that B is wearing jammies!):

Living Room

Kitchen

Mud Room (still need the doors!)

Grant's room

And Brooke's pink room that she just cannot stop talking about

Here is where the exterior was at as of yesterday.  Getting closer!!

My parents (our 24 hour surveillance crew - bless them!) said that they started installing the flooring today as well as the kitchen backsplash, so I'll be excited to see that when we get out there next!

In other news, as always, the kids greatly enjoyed Halloween.  We gathered together with my mom's side of the family the Sunday prior and got the kiddos dressed up (minus Grady - who just wasn't up to wearing his costume).

Brooke the flower princess (or flower girl, as she insisted) and Grant as Justin Verlander just prior to heading out to a local subdivision to collect the candy loot.

G finished up soccer a few weeks ago.  While this fall was so crazy busy, and we contemplated even signing him up to play, I am so glad that we did.  He just had a riot and learned a ton in the process.

He enjoyed playing goalie.

And also was a great defender!

And last, while far from professional, I took the kids 5 year (a little late) and 3 year (a little early) pictures.  Found a location this summer as I was driving through Zeeland and went back to it this fall (although it sure was a popular place - there were two other groups getting pictures taken when I showed up!).  Why do they have to get so old so fast?!  Love these kids!

Well, given my blog timeliness, you will likely not see another update until bambino #3 makes its appearance!  Pray that all goes well!!
