One hundred years ago today, the world became a better place because Peter Buteyn entered it. You read that right - Eric's grandpa turned a century today! We celebrated yesterday with cake at the nursing home. Grant was hoping there would be 100 candles to blow out. Ha! Wouldn't that be a sight (and require a fire extinguisher!). While I may have only known him for a short 12 years, I've quickly come to learn what an amazing man he has been. Listening to his detailed stories from days gone by (that is how Eric did his history reports in high school!), cherishing the recitation of "Casey at the Bat" as it flowed word for word from his mouth, and playing card games are just some of the things I remember fondly of Grandpa B. Eric can attest to many more, I am sure.
What is the secret to his longevity, one may ask? I will lay bets that it's the fact that he raised 8 girls and only had access to one bathroom!
Happy birthday Grandpa! We love you very, very much!

Amazing! We just heard a sermon on Sunday about longevity of life and how important purpose is. He must still find purpose to his days. That's fantastic!
By the way, now that I've seen a pic of your belly, I totally know what you're having:-) Obviously I don't really, but I'm guessing boy!
