A few weeks back we went to a Whitecaps game with Eric's family. We enjoyed the evening together (and the 10 cent hot dogs!), and Grant loved being with his cousins, like always! For some reason, though, I thought Grant would actually sit and watch the game because he enjoys watching the Tigers so much on TV. Silly me. The kid didn't sit still! Eric thinks it's because he really didn't know any of the players like he does with the Tigers (Miguel Cabrera is his favorite, by the way.). I expected the antsy-ness out of Brooke (which of course was the case), but trying to get two kids to sit still was quite the chore. Here's hoping that a few weeks from now when we go to a Tigers game Grant will actually want to watch it!

My friend Heather invited us out to Green Lake a day in late July. It was just gorgeous outside. We played in the lake, ate lunch, and just hung out. Two friends that normally come were unable to make it this year, but for good reason.
Amy is on strict bed rest expecting twins in October, and Marcy had little Cambry Faith the day of the get-together. She's too cute, and I just love the name! So, a smaller crowd that usual, but we still had a great time. We had to laugh, though, because the kids spent most of the time playing in the hot tub (don't worry - it wasn't hot water and wasn't running) when there was a big ole' lake to have fun in!

Cole, Morgan, Isaac, and Grant

Brooke and Grady (with chocolate all over them!)
This past Sunday my parents, the kids, and I went up to Silver Lake to ride my parents' jeep in the dunes and go to the beach. What a blast. It was a great day for it - not too busy, and the water was just gorgeous (so clear and warm!). I got a kick out of sitting between my kids and listening to them giggle and we climbed each dune.

We've got a busy few weeks coming up, and then back in the swing of fall! If it stays as hot as it's been, fall will be a welcome relief! It's surreal to me that G will be starting pre-school this fall! Turned in his paperwork last week. He loves people and he loves to learn, so I am going to guess that school will be right up his alley!
Here's a parting picture of my two goof balls playing with their "capes" on. They would "fly" around the kitchen and living room. I am loving to watch them play together more and more.

When did Brookie turn into a little girl?! It seems like shes grown up SO much since the last time I saw her! Ahhh...tell her to stop...I can't miss out on that! Can't wait to see you guys in a few days!
Oh Kim, can you please not talk about preschool yet? I'm so ready to withdraw Miya's application. I'm not ready to send her. I agree with Kathi, Brooke has traded in the toddler look for the little girl look. I know it's going to happen, but it still makes me so sad :( I love the capes!! Jaydes plays cape over here too, Miya probably will want to start once she sees Grants'!!
You give those kids such great experiences...and happy memories!
