Spring Break 2010

Rather than heading south for warmer climates like many folks do during spring break week, we traveled north to Cadillac to spend a few days at a resort on Lake Cadillac, as Eric's parents so graciously allowed us to partake in their timeshare. We spent time with just our family from Friday night to Sunday afternoon, and then Eric's parents and our nephews joined us from Sunday to Tuesday, when we left. Friday was absolutely beautiful, so the kids had the chance to play on the beach area on the lake. On Saturday morning we biked around the lake (Grant rode his own bike for about the first mile and a half, but because we weren't breaking any speed records, and had to make it into town for the Easter egg hunt, we had to strap his bike to the back of the Burley and let him ride the rest of the trip :)).
We out-of-towners came ill prepared for an Easter egg hunt and had to improvise with a plastic shopping bag.

There was a great playground right on the lake where we went a few times for the kiddos to play.
There's just something about this picture that I love (Brooke's peeking through one of the "windows" on the "boat" at the park).

In addition to watching the Final Four not turn out the way we'd hoped, we enjoyed dinner out, playing games, taking naps (well 3 of us - Grant wasn't always on board with this one!), going for walks, and just relaxing.

Here's one of my favorite photos of the cousins. It's very difficult to get 4 boys and a 15 month old to stand still long enough to get a picture, let alone look at the camera and smile!

Our attempt at a family picture. Not so easy!
Great pic of all the kiddos with Grandma and Grandpa (aside from the fact that it looks like Brooke is picking her nose!!)

We spent a good amount of time at the pool at the resort. Both Grant and Brooke loved the water. On Tuesday just prior to leaving we spent the day up in Boyne at Avalanche Bay. We had been here about a year and a half ago when Grant was 2. Needless to say, the event had left a pretty big impression on his memory, and he was GEEKED to return (that's probably putting it lightly). He went down the big water slides this time, and even did one on his own (that went through the dark!). Brooke had an absolute blast, too, playing in the little kids section of the park. The girl has no fear of water. She went down the kiddie slide, splashed in the pool, and stuck her face in the fountains. Unfortunately, because it was so busy there, it was incredibly humid, and thus, I wasn't able to take any pictures because my camera just got all fogged up.

Overall, we had a great time. Thanks again Mom and Dad for letting us share in your fun! Back to reality in a few short days! On my to do list the next few - clean, clean, clean my house!!

What a blast! Your kiddos are getting so big, but still look sweet as ever.
