Can it be mid-July already????

Why does summer have to go so fast? I am having way too much fun. Chad and Kathi headed back to Pennsylvania last week after spending two wonderful weeks here in Michigan. It sure was nice to have them around for an extended period of time. Brielle is growing like a weed (and I hope continuing to sleep well at night, Kathi!).
Grant loved playing with Uncle Chad in the sand.

Brielle and Brooke - I have a feeling they'll be very good friends some day!

Last week we went to the Outdoor Discovery Center as one of the playgroup sessions that the OAISD offers. We'd never been there before, but will likely return. G and his buddies, Morgan and Reese had a great time walking the trails, looking for animals, touching turtles, and of course, eating a snack (which, like always, is Grant's favorite thing to do!). We saw TONS of people we knew there, too!
Is this an elk??

My son has butt crack exposure issues!

This past weekend Grant, Brooke, and I headed up to Grand Haven to spend some time with Marcy, Reese, and a good friend from Hope - Heidi and her adorable daughter Abbie. We've been doing this for a couple years now, and we so enjoy it. We ate Pronto Pups (I think G could have eaten 5 of them!), walked along the water, played at the marina park, and went to Sweet Temptations for ice cream. It was a very relaxing and fun evening - the only downer - poor Abbie fell and bumped her noggin on the wooden steps. She got quite the goose egg, but was a trooper!
Fun on the tire swing.
Abbie and Heidi - post accident (see the goose egg on her head?) Poor thing!

We spent this past Monday with Eric's family at Michigan's Adventure and had an absolute blast. The weather was perfect, it wasn't too busy, and it was so much fun to not only go on the rides myself but also see Grant and his cousins just love the attractions. My mom so graciously volunteered to watch Brooke so we didn't have to worry about stroller-ing her all around the park in the sun (I had to twist her arm to do it - yeah right!).Grant and Aaron on the airplanes
I laugh every time I look at this picture. Tim (2nd from right) seemed so thrilled to be on this ride after all the roller coasters he went on.
On the ferris wheelThis was G's favorite ride. Can you see him driving a Harley some day all clad in black leather?
Family pic just prior to ditching the camera to play in the water park.

OK, any other moms of three year olds out there having difficulty getting their child to nap now that summer is upon us? I cannot get this kid to go down! I've resorted to telling him that if he's not going to nap he at least needs to play downstairs for a while. I need some down time! Here was Eric's attempt the other day at trying to help the process along -
Yep, E's efforts to get his son to nap were pretty futile, as you can see. He, on the other, hand, caught up on some much needed zzzzz's. Little stinker! (Grant, that is.)

That's a great picture of the 3 of you. I'm sorry I missed it. Abbie's forehead is healing, but she keeps picking the scab on her nose. Poor thing!
P.S. When Grant wants to ride, give us a call. Nat loves any excuse to ride his Harley:-)

That's so true about the nap! Morgan has had trouble too! Eric so looks like Neal...he always falls asleep way before Morgan! Wish we could have gone to the ISD thing but I started working...looks like fun!
