We Are...Penn State!!

We had the opportunity to head out to Pennsylvania the last weekend in September to visit my sister Kathi and her husband Chad. As some of you know, Chad is a graduate student at Penn State, and they are out there for a few years. While we miss them greatly and wish they were closer to home, Penn State is a great place to visit. We had a very eventful weekend. We left Friday after work and drove a little under halfway before stopping at a hotel in Ohio so Grant could spend some time in the pool. Needless to say, being 31 weeks pregnant, I feel more like a beached whale by the ocean than a poolside bathing beauty.
Grant loved swimming with grandpa!

Saturday night we went to a Penn State volleyball game. Penn State is ranked #1 in the nation, and boy do they deserve it. They were so much fun to watch and beat Illinois in 3 games. I was VERY impressed.

On Sunday we went to a Penn State vs. Illinois football game. It was a night game that was nationally televised on ABC. What a crowd! There were over 109,000 people there - making it the 6th most attended Penn State game in history. We all went a little early to tailgate, but not early enough as you can tell from the picture below! We had to drive through a sea of people!

Grant and Kathi playing beanbag toss at the tailgate.

After the tailgate, Grant and my mom went back at Chad and Kathi's apartment (bless my mom's heart for doing that, but there was no way that G would have survived that game). Penn State won the game, and the experience of being in a football stadium holding that many people (all wearing white by the way - it's the "white out") was something I'll never forget!
Dad, Kathi, and I sat in a different spot that Chad and Eric. (This was supposedly an "aisle" seat according to the guy we got the tickets from. Hmmm...last I checked, the aisle was by a stairway, not overlooking the parking lot! Oh well. It was pretty eventful, though - a fight almost broke out in front of me between a middle aged guy and a college student. Pretty funny.)
The band was quite impressive and check out the sea of white!

Thanks for letting us come out for a visit Kathi and Chad! It was great to see you again!

I'm exhausted just thinking about how I felt at 31 weeks and then to do all of that? Grant's lucky his mom is such a trooper!
P.S. LOVE the pic of your dad and his girls!
